Why clips claiming to be Vivekananda’s voice are not real !

The audio clips which are in the internet do not have Vivekananda’s voice. According to a story in The Hindu on September 7, 2012, the famous Chicago speech was not recorded (see the link) because such technology was not available at that time.

As 153rd birth anniversary of the saint was celebrated across countries on January 12, thousands scouted for audios and videos of his famous Chicago speech from the Internet.

There are some audio clips in the Internet that claim to be original and the recorded voice of Vivekananda.

Besides, the “…my sisters and brothers of America…” speech at the World’s first Parliament of Religion in Chicago in 1893 is so mesmerizing that most of the fans of the Swami, who is credited with taking Hinduism to the West, have no reason not to believe it.

But the audio clips really do not have Vivekananda’s voice. According to a story in The Hindu on September 7, 2012, the famous Chicago speech was not recorded (see the link) because such technology was not available at that time.

Ramkrishna Math, the monastic order founded by Vivekananda, also confirmed that it is not his voice in the clips.
