Mumbai, Jan 13 (Big Wire) Around 25 years after he set Indian screens ablaze with power packed Ghayal, actor Sunny Deol has come up with its sequel Ghayal Once Again.
As it releases early next month, the most asked question is: “Will it work?”.
Well, Sunny at 59 is past his prime and many doubt his hold over box office. But these two seeming disadvantages apart, the yesteryear superstar has still everything going for him.
Sunny was the biggest star of the 1990s and has to his credit one of the biggest films in the history of Indian cinema – 2001’s Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
He still has several advantages that none of his contemporaries have. Besides, he scores over even the current superstars when it comes to action scenes.
He is one of the biggest stars of his generation who still has a dedicated fan following. The initial draws to his last few films like Apne, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Singh Saab The Great vouch for the fact.
Some of his recent films have not worked but that is due to failure of the script. Give him a good script, Sunny will beat the competition by a distance.
Most importantly, despite the fact that Sunny turns 60 next year, he looks younger and is among the fittest stars.
The actor had hit the bull’s eye with Ghayal in 1990 with his superlative portrayal of an amateur boxer wrongly accused of his brother’s murder.
Will Sunny sparkle in Ghayal Once Again, also produced and directed by him?
We keep our fingers crossed?
