Apple has taken its CarPlay application to the next level by making it a smarter, safer in-vehicle interface so that you can operate your iPhone in your car without any trouble.
The features are available in over a hundred car models. They include Audi, Buick, Chevrolet, DS Automobiles, Ferrari , Cadillac, Citroën, , Ford, Honda, Hyundai, GMC, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Mitsubishi, Opel, Peugeot, Seat, Škoda, Suzuki, Volkswagen and Volvo.
Many more car makers are likely to introduce these features in their upcoming models due to increasing demand by the users.
The automobiles with CarPlay are compatible with iPhone 5 and later versions with iOS 8 and above.
The General Motors has topped the list by including its 35 models supporting it while users can enjoy the features in 18 car models of Volkswagen.
Once your iPhone is connected with your car’s in-dash navigation system, you can send and receive messages, make calls, get directions and listen to music, podcasts, radio without losing focus on the road.
It also supports the hands free use of Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface (Siri) .

Car models which support CarPlay
To use this application you do not need to use wireless or Bluetooth option. To pair your iPhone you need to plug into the dashboard with a lightning cable.
The car will than detect your iPhone and automatically display the CarPlay icon and update compatible applications on the dashboard screen.
The most important thing is that the dashboard screen gets locked automatically when it is idle so that you do not get distracted while driving.
