Small changes in lifestyle can help you stay positive

It’s not that hard to remain optimistic in life. Small changes in lifestyle can bring major differences to your life. Because only when you are happy and content, you will be able to make your surroundings feel the same.

From overcrowded bus to maid’s sudden absence on a Monday morning; from office politics to widening of waistline; from a call waiting to a failed relationship … you never fall short of excuses that fill you with negative vibes.

With ever-changing lifestyles our patience level has touched its lowest and terms like depression and tension have taken over us.

But honestly, it’s not that hard to remain optimistic in life. Small changes in lifestyle can bring major differences to your life. Because only when you are happy and content, you will be able to make your surroundings feel the same.

1. To begin with, stop being melodramatic.

Sometimes things will go wrong or there will be instances where everything will not happen as per your wish. But the “excess drama” will only add to your headache and make your coffee taste more bitter.

2. Give yourself that much required space.

It is as important as giving space to your family and/or those close to you. And don’t spoil your “me time” with negative thoughts.

3. Spend more time with people who make you cheerful.

They may be a friend, your partner, parent or a neighbour. However, choose your pal wisely so that they don’t become a baggage in the long run.

4. Praise others and you will see how it makes you happy as well.

We all crave for kind words and praises. So, when you praise someone, you are more likely to be reciprocated, at least in front. And that’s a great encouragement.

5. Give yourself a chance to feel positive.

There’s a saying – be like a dog, if you can’s eat or play with something, pee on it and walk away. Similarly, if a situation goes out of your hand despite all your efforts, let it go … and that applies to relationships as well.

So, just give yourself a chance to feel that positive vibe within you. As it is, scientists claim you need only 66 days to change your life, if you really want to.

Elite Daily quoted Charles Duhigg, author of ‘The Power of Habit,’ who said habits are not born, but created. “Every bad, good or insignificant habit starts with a psychological pattern called a ‘habit loop.”

“The only way to solidify the end of an old habit or the birth of a new one is to celebrate it. Throw a party, have some champagne, shout it from your Brooklyn rooftop. Make a day of it or call up your friends and have a swanky dinner party,” reported Elite Daily.
