Delhi has a lot more exciting things to offer to visitors. It has a great heritage, magnificent architecture, excellent food and many more things.

New Delhi, most commonly known as Delhi, as the Capital of the country is the power centre of the country. But it has a lot more exciting things to offer to visitors. It has a great heritage, magnificent architecture, excellent food and many more things.One must explore the following five things while visiting Delhi:

Cuisine– Delhi is not just the capital of today’s India, but a confluence of different people and rulers who came to the city from time to time. And that is reflected in the food culture of Delhi.

One can get a variety of cuisine reflecting these cultures at old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk – Mughlai non-veg delicacies like kebab, mutton biryani, Punjabi chole bhature, Rajasthani chaat, paratha, aloo chat, dahi bhalle and what not.

Rich History –Delhi is full of archaeological marvels that reflect its rich history. Besides, better known monuments like Lal Quila, Outub Minar and Jantar Mantar, Delhi has around 170 monuments scatter around all over the city. Some of the monuments have been recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Sports — Delhi has given many international players to India and has hosted many international sporting events. It has world class stadium like Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla, Ambedkar Staium, Indira Gandhi Stadium to hold both indoor and outdoor games.

Amusement– Though Delhi is not known for night life, it still offers fun and entertainment to tourists as well as Delhiites. It has ample clubs, restaurants, bar and not to forget happening malls. Appu Ghar and Pragati Maidan attract huge crowds.

India’s first amusement park Appu Ghar at Pragati Maidan shut down in 2008, but reopened in Gurgaon four years back retaining old charm but at the same time adding new features.

Local markets–Delhi is known for its own sense of style and that comes from bazaars. E the local market of Delhi has history. Though hundreds of malls have come up in the city, local bazaars have managed to hold their own charm and customers.

Some of famous local markets of Delhi are Chadani Chowk, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar where one can enjoy the liberty of bargaining and haggling over prices without being looked down upon as “down market”.
