Here is a piece of good news for the Facebook users. Besides liking or commenting on a post, they can now express their emotions through a new set of buttons.socialnetwork

The most used social networking site has announced that its newly developed in-network emotion buttons would be added very soon allowing the users to easily choose between a few emotions like Love, Yay, Haha, Wow, Angry and Sad, the Washington Post reported.

Currently, Facebook has only ‘Like’ button and the users had been requesting to add a ‘Dislike’ button since years.

“The philosophy behind it is that when you only have like button, if you share a sad piece of content or something that makes you angry, people may not have the tool to react to it,” the US newspaper quoted Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg as saying.

Facebook has been testing the new animated emotions in a handful of countries to make sure it works smoothly before it goes live for everyone. It will also offer more appropriate response options for posts that one really cannot like, allowing the users to engage in the conversations.

Once launched worldwide, the users will be able to access the new emotions buttons on their smartphones by simply pressing down on the current thumbs-up icon, which will open the new options below it.
