Shahapura Lake: The magnificent lake is situated in middle of Bhopal. The best time to visit Shahpura Lake is morning or late evening. It becomes all the more important to visit the lake in winter when thousands of colourful migratory birds flock to it.

You can have a grand view of the Badi Jheel (upper lake) of Bhopal from the VIP road. The road that surrounds around a half of the lake is called as VIP but it is open for everybody. The other half is full of greenery.

One can enjoy the view of sunset from the road. Badi Jheel offers water adventure to tourists.

Manua Bhan Ki Tekri:

Also called Mahaveer Tekri, it is a very famous Jain temple. It is situated on the top of Lalgathi. Come here to get aerial view of city. Perfect time to visit this place is evening. One can reach to the top by rope way.

Monuments:

Bhopal has world famous Taj-ul-Masajid, Moti Masjid, Gauhar Mahal, Rani Mahal and Sadar Mazil that can be seen old parts of the city.

Around 50 km from Bhopal, the oldest stone structure in India – Great Stupa – is located at Sanchi town. It is a magnificent specimen of Buddhist marvel originally commissioned by Emperor Asoka but built and expanded over third century BC to 12 century AD.

Another site worth visiting is Bhimbetka Rock Shelter, declared a World Heritage by UNESCO. Just 45 KM south of Bhopal, it is an archeological site having several caves with rock paintings as old as 30,000 years.

How to reach Bhopal:

The capital city of Madhya Pradesh is just 597 km from Delhi. It is well connected with trains and flight. There are more than 50 trains available from Delhi to Bhopal including Rajdhani. Bhopal_road

Bhopal has a good network of hotels to stay. Best time to visit this beautiful place is winter. As winter in Bhopal is not that cold, one can enjoy the trip without any hiccups.
