Next time Chuck Noland is ‘Cast Away’ in a lonely island, he does not have to struggle to fetch fresh water, if he has the next generation Fontus water bottle.
The smart bottle designed by Austrian designer Kristof Retezár can produce water on its own, collecting the moisture from the air.
According to the Vienna based start up comprising electrical engineers and industrial designers, the bottles could be handy in regions where the water resources are scarce.
The company has designed two products: FONTUS AIRO for mountain hikers and FONTUS RYDE for bicycle riders.
These bottles will cut down the weight of their luggage when they are hiking, bicycling or going on adventure trip as well as help in quenching their thirst in remote places where there is limited access to drinking water.
Markus “Appi” Apperle, a professional mountain biker from Tirol Austria was quoted by the company as saying on its website, “The Fontus bottles are revolutionary. I will never go on an adventure without one! It is a must for every survivor.”
The solar powered bottles can produce 0.8l of water per hour in right climatic condition.
Both the products are awaiting patents. The company is planning to start a crowdfunding drive to bring it to market.
