The Facebook-owned messaging app service WhatsApp is rolling out an extra layer of security that will help you keep all your WhatsApp conversation private.

It has introduced two-factor authentication (2FA) in some of the latest beta version of the WhatsApp, according to Android Police, a blog that reviews Android products.

The 2FA is available in the version 2.16.341 of WhatsApp and above, maybe even earlier, it said.

Two Factor Authentication is a multi-factor authentication that requires not only a password but also another piece of information that only the user of this messaging app knows.

A user of this messaging app needs to get it activated via their account by clicking on two-step verification menu and need to fill the six-digit passcode that they had created. This passcode they need every time they use a new phone and want to use same WhatsApp account.

With the two-factor authentication your conversation to remain private and no one other than you can activate the WhatsApp account using your phone number unless they have the passcode.
