CSM Tech launches blockchain-based employee varification system

The ProofChain system eases the process of validating talent, particularly work experience, and has already migrated work experience data and other records of over 3500 ex-employees onto the blockchain platform.

CSM Tech, a leading Indian IT consulting company with a global presence, has unveiled a blockchain-powered employee records verification system called ProofChain.

The platform is designed to provide third-party verifiers with access to work experience records of candidates who have served in CSM Tech across all locations.

As instances of fake credentials become more prevalent in the IT landscape, CSM Tech aims to set a new benchmark for the industry with its tamper-proof and immutable blockchain-based employee credentialing system.

The platform, which has been developed on the open source HyperLedger Fabric blockchain platform, is set to revolutionize the process of background verification for IT companies, who often onboard candidates first and conduct authentication later.

The ProofChain system eases the process of validating talent, particularly work experience, and has already migrated work experience data and other records of over 3500 ex-employees onto the blockchain platform.

Third-party verifiers are given access to the platform through a secure login and password, with the HR department of CSM Tech approving or rejecting their requests.

The entire process takes between seven to 15 days. The ProofChain system has been integrated with CSM Tech’s ERP system and has already received over 100 requests for employee records verification.

Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, Founder & CEO of CSM Tech, commented on the initiative, saying, “With this blockchain-enabled system, we will not just ease the employee verification process but set a new benchmark for IT companies to adopt blockchain platforms on scale for onboarding talent with verified credentials.”

The system is set to reduce the burden on hiring teams, where recruiters often skip the verification process to manage timelines. According to research, 48% of HR professionals do not check a candidate’s qualifications, citing time and resource shortages.

CSM Tech’s ProofChain system has already been used by leading IT recruiters like TCS, Infosys, MindTree, Accenture, and IBM. Going forward, CSM Tech aims to mainstream its employee verification system, offering talented candidates to recruiters at lower costs and with swifter timelines, without the hassle of manual authentication.

To facilitate adoption on scale, the blockchain employee verification software will require buy-in from a variety of stakeholders willing to offer credentials and testimonials, to work across organizations, disparate industries, and job roles.
