Bhubaneswar, 08 January (BigWire) Brijendra Pratap Singh has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) at its Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar. With his vast experience and strategic vision, Shri Singh is expected to steer NALCO toward new heights in its journey of growth and sustainability.

A Stellar Career in the Steel and Mining Sectors

Shri Singh brings over 35 years of expertise in the mining and steel industries. Prior to joining NALCO, he was the Director-In-Charge of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants and a member of the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). He played a crucial role in modernizing SAIL’s operations and aligning the organization with the National Steel Policy.

Academic Achievements

Engineering Background: Graduate in Mining Machinery Engineering from IIT Dhanbad (formerly ISM Dhanbad) – Class of 1989.

Management Expertise: Holds an MBA degree in Marketing.

Professional Journey

Shri Singh began his career in 1989 at the Iron Ore Mine of Bhilai Steel Plant. He went on to work in critical positions at four of SAIL’s integrated steel plants:

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP)
Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL)
Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP)
IISCO Steel Plant (ISP)

His experience spans frontline operations and leadership roles across mining, blast furnaces, sinter plants, maintenance, and overall plant operations.
